The young man blinks owlishly at the other. He ducks his head near as quickly with a sharp nod of his head. It’s not the first time he’s heard such a  thing. He’s heard it much of his life given his own pacifism and refusal to take part in grounder wars. Even others with magic seemed to assist, secretly though it may be, and the issues they’ve had with the people that fell from the sky was just one of many.

“That’s hardly news,” He comments from his place amongst the trees– Some humor to the response. He didn’t particularly care what others thought of him– Especially not another young man who barely knew him. Newt shifted to lean closer to a pair of animal tracks before he added wryly, “If I wasn’t found annoying then I wouldn’t be who I am.”

And he’s quite content with who he is, thanks. Regardless of what others said he didn’t think it was wrong to want to live peacefully. That these disagreements turning to war were ridiculous when there were so few of them left. There was a reason he decided to defect from his own people and chose to live in the woods amongst the creatures he preferred and who– for some reason– preferred him, too. “But that’s neither here nor there, isn’t it?”
