Tina stepped down into the basement where they kept Newt’s creatures, ducking a flying beast of some sort as it swooped from its nest high up in the rafters. She eventually found her husband sat with some of his creatures, examining a minor injury. “How are they?” She asked as she sat down beside him, trying to look and see. “So, I need to talk you about something.”
Newt’s animal clinic had, in a sense, grown and flourished through the years. Several readers sent him letters about ill creatures and he’d accept invitations to come and see them and, in worse cases, brought them in to care for them. To some he’d become known as a creature healer and he bore that title proudly– His goal had always been, after all, to care and nurture and increase awareness. To have done that much had made his heart swell with pride.
His brother was often quick to remind him to be careful what to bring home into his London flat which was approximately why, once he and Tina were married, he bought a small cottage in Dorset– Several miles walk to a town and with a large ocean view and many acres. A good place to handle his creatures and Theseus could merely roll his eyes at his younger brother’s audacious, perpetual lawbreaking.
With much more room to care for them more seemed to come into his care and though most he parted with eventually there were a fair few that remained. The nifflers, now all trained to help him in tracking, bowtruckles, and Dougal chief among them. It was odd to think that he was content in this– He hadn’t been traveling so much and he was married, something that still brought butteflies to his stomach. Especially as he so often thought there’d be no one who’d want to put up with him and his creatures for so long, lease of all the law-abiding Tina Goldstein.
Yet, she’d become Tina Scamander and they’d settled rather happily. Him with helping creatures and her with protecting people and certainly they had their bouts of fighting, but when it was important they always seemed to ome together and he made ever attempt to show how precious her companionship was to him. Such as now.
He hadn’t heard her return home, but it hadn’t mattered much–Tina knew where he was if he wasn’t in the home. And as he spoke to the fledgling he heard the tell-tale sound of her footsteps making their way down the stairs. “Now, you lot, you’ll have to learn to share, won’t you?” He was saying with soothing amusement when her feet came into view. Newt looked up at her from his hunched position, offering her a grin as he replaced the occamy back into its nest.
“Quite so, they’re just in their teenage years,” Newt jokes, ducking his head slightly as he moves to sit properly nearby– watching the occamy slither back into its favored part. “Being in such close quarters with a sibling can ruffle a few feathers.” Another light joke, his fingers going to brush across his nose as he all but rambled– A moment passing before he catches her words and he stops.
Newt’s attention turns to her, expression as quizzical as it is concerned. Tina always cut to the truth of matters, he knew that. When she decided to say something she always did, but he’s puzzled. Had she been off these past few days? She’d been oddly quiet, he supposed, but she’d come in late and he’d been nursing one of the frail, newborns– He hadn’t paid half as much attention as he should have, had he?
“What is it?” Newt started abruptly, brows furrowing as his fingers fidget absently with the cuff of her shirt sleeve– She didn’t seem mad at him, that was a good sign. “They’re not sending you out on another mission, are they?” That’d been frequent for a long time, too, but that had been the cost of war and he rather hoped they’d be done with that by now. Enough had been sacrificed for the bloody wareffort, but that was a disgruntlement for another day.

LAWS.
Hi there! My name's Emi. I'd like to say that I'm a pretty laidback roleplayer. I generally don't mind slow tags even without a heads-up. And I'm usually more than willing to try roleplaying just about anything. Come at me with your murder, mystery, and fluff plots. I'll cherish all of them. That said there are a few things I'd like to make clear before you roleplay with me. They're not many but they are important.
Don't be a dick. Plain and simple. I will always do my best to tag you back as quickly as possible. I won't get mad if you take a while or ask me about them, but if you harass me it's the first step to being blocked. I won't stand for tumblr's call out culture and if I say any bigotry on your blog of any kind you're gone. Sorry, but this is my hobby and I'm not going to have that in my life.
NSFW I don't write smut often, but I do dabble in it. Likewise there may be plots that involv blood, gore, or more difficult topics. I will tag everything accordingly. I'm happy to play any type of nsfw/triggering stuff upon discussion with another writer or if I post a meme. I WILL NOT do any of this with minors. SHIPPING I LOVE shipping, however, I am more likely to write physical intimacy with Newt before shipping itself. I will only write Newt in a relationship with writers I feel comfortable with and if the characters have chemistry-- even if it's Tina.
FORMATTING Personally, I do not use a lot of formatting for my posts. An icon, small font, and occasionally bold dialogue if I'm feeling spunky. I do not prefer stylized posts but I will not hold it against you. Format as you see fit.
THREAD LENGTHS When I write Newt I use a great deal of introspection and/or movement to supplement for an occasional lack of verbal responses. Most of my tags come out to 3/4 paragraphs or 300 words, at the least. Most, not all. It's just my style of writing, but I'm more than happy to write with you if your responses are shorter. I ask that it not be a sentence and preferably a paragraph, but so long as you give me something to work with I'm happy to play.
GODMODDING Just don't do it.
INTERPRETATION Which brings me to this: I will not compromise on my portrayal of Newt. I'm more than happy to discuss my choices, but I do not agree with how most of fandom writes and sees him.
SELECTIVITY I try to be as open as possible. I LOVE cross-canon interactions, it's what I thrive on. I do also love canon interactions, but please see interpreation above. Everyone has their own interpretations and sometimes it's more difficult to play if Newt gets boxxed into someone else's opinion of him. Because of this and my difference in playing him I'll be a little more selective in canonmates and may become strictly mains/exclusives in this regard. It's nothing person, I'd just prefer to write with people I'm comfortable with.
